While surfing sites looking for potential alternative competitions to get involved in with the Weffo scooter supercharger and other goodies in the works, I ran across the Shell Eco-marathon.

This is a very cool challenge set up for college and high school students to get them thinking about alternative energy, efficiency, and engineering future vehicles to meet the world's energy and mobility needs down the road (all puns intended).  From the site:

The Shell Eco-marathon challenges high school and college student teams from around the world to design, build and test energy efficient vehicles. With annual events in the Americas, Europe and Asia, the winner is the team that goes the furthest distance using the least amount of energy. This event also affords an outstanding engagement opportunity for current and future leaders who are passionate about finding sustainable solutions to the world’s energy challenge.

OK, so it might not be something on Weffo's radar at this time, but might be something to look into sponsoring a team in a future event...?
